Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted strongly to renewed paternity claims after a 12-year-old girl, Mitchelle Anuoluwapo, publicly requested a DNA test to confirm whether the singer is her biological father.

The controversy resurfaced on Thursday following an emotional Instagram post by the teenager, in which she detailed the psychological distress she said she has endured over the years due to the unresolved claim.

According to Anuoluwapo, she has been subjected to bullying since the age of six, with classmates mocking her for insisting that Davido is her father. She said the experience caused significant emotional trauma and forced her to seek professional mental health support.

In her post, she explained that as she approaches adolescence, she wants clarity about her identity. She appealed directly to Davido, respectfully requesting a DNA test, describing it as “the right thing to do” for her personal peace and development. She added that she had also sent the request to the singer via direct message.

Davido, however, dismissed the claim, stating that the issue had already been conclusively addressed. Responding in the comment section of the post, the singer denied being the girl’s father and said he had undergone multiple DNA tests, all of which returned negative results.

“I’ve taken five DNA tests, all negative. I am not your father. Never met your mom. She’s an obsessed fan lying to you. This needs to stop,” Davido wrote.

He further expressed his frustration on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the DNA tests were conducted at different medical facilities. In a strongly worded post, the singer urged the girl and her mother to stop pursuing the claim and “go find her real father.”

In subsequent posts, Davido accused the girl’s mother of misconduct and suggested that legal action may be necessary. While expressing sympathy for the child, he maintained that he has never had a relationship with her mother beyond attending DNA test procedures.

Davido stated that the tests were conducted across five hospitals—three selected by him and two by the claimant—and all results reportedly confirmed that he is not the child’s father. He added that he would no longer engage publicly on the matter, describing it as closed.

The controversy continues to generate widespread public attention and debate across social media platforms.
