The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has immediately appointed Omobayo Marvellous Godwins, a 38-year-old Engineer, as his Deputy after the removal of Comrade Philip Shaibu as Edo Deputy Governor by State House of Assembly.

The embattled Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu impeached today Monday 8th of April, 2024.

The inauguration of Omobayo is scheduled to take place later at the Edo State Government House in Benin City after his screening by the House of Assembly.

Friends and well-wishers of Omobayo have already gathered at the inauguration venue for the swearing-in ceremony.
