When Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah joined the murky waters of Nigerian politics to contest the governorship election, not many believed in his capacity and vision. He was neither deterred nor daunted. He weathered the storm, took the bull by the horn, and it paid off.
Since May 29, 2023, Governor Mbah has been in the business of governance. Eventhough Governor Mbah’s imprints in the game of governance in Enugu State which commenced on May 29, 2023 is expected to end on May 29, 2027 for the first term, the first half of his first term has been celebratory, extraordinary, fantastic and spectacular in all ramifications. It has been indeed good governance, service delivery, and democracy dividends like never before in the state.
Gov. Mbah has been playing in a hurry as if the game is ending tomorrow. He has been unrelentingly firing from all flanks and cylinders, angles, and sectors. It is no dull moment in all sectors of the state economy, three senatorial zones of the state, eight federal constituencies, 24 state constituencies, 17 local government, 260 wards. His government has a presence and impact everywhere and in every sector just within a second half of the first term.
His is a case of using the morning to know how the evening will be. Indeed, many have been wondering how Enugu will be by the time Governor Mbah completed 4 years of the first term and secured another four years based on performance. While so many have said that Enugu can never be the same again, others are of the view that Enugu will be an El Dorado.
Both opinions are right and correct because the ongoing massive and unprecedented transformation and development of Enugu State by Governor Mbah's government, will put Enugu State in the global map as the most developed, investment friendly and economic transforming state in Nigeria.
As Governor Mbah's government celebrates her half time in the business of governance in the state, he , his supporters, and the people of Enugu State have every reason and cause to celebrate it in grand style.
This is simply because Governor Mbah has delivered and continued to deliver good governance and democracy dividends to the people. There are many completed and ongoing infrastructural and other capital projects to be pointed at, be proud of and celebratory of them, courtesy of Gov. Mbah's administration.
Of utmost joy and importance is the fact that despite Governor Mbah's stunning performance in the first half of the game and accolades accompanying it, he is neither relenting, nor being carried away or resting on his oars in his visions and determination to restore the glory of the state and take it to the Promised Land before leaving office.
