Abuja, October 19, 2025 - Senator Ned Nwoko has denied allegations of domestic violence levelled against him by his wife, actress Regina Daniels, saying her “battle with drugs and alcohol” is the root of recent disturbances at their Abuja home.

In a statement posted to his verified social media account on Sunday, Nwoko described footage that circulated online over the weekend as showing a “rampage” by Regina and blamed substance abuse for the breakdown in the couple’s marriage. He said he has never been violent toward any of his wives and called Daniels’s claims “false and unfair.”

The senator said Daniels had been violent in recent days — allegedly slapping three staff members and damaging property, including vehicles and windows — and that he had insisted she enter a rehabilitation programme, either in Nigeria or abroad, where, he claimed, she would not have access to drugs.

The controversy followed a viral video that surfaced on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in which Regina Daniels appeared distressed and is heard saying: “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.” The clip shows a tense commotion at the couple’s residence, though the immediate cause of the confrontation remains unclear.

Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman (known as Sammy West), posted in support of his sister on Instagram, accusing the senator of assault and warning against further violence. In his post, he vowed to defend his sister and described the situation in strong terms.

The marriage of Regina Daniels and Senator Nwoko has attracted public attention since it began in 2019 because of the couple’s significant age difference and the senator’s reported polygamous status. Regina was 19 and Nwoko 59 when they married; he is reportedly married to several wives, with Daniels the youngest. AnchorNews notes that the allegations are the latest in a string of high-profile domestic disputes that have prompted intense social-media scrutiny.

Neither the police nor any relevant authorities had confirmed an official complaint or opened an independent investigation by the time of publication. AnchorNews will update this story if official statements or new evidence emerge.
