President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the name of Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, SAN, from Enugu State, to the Senate for confirmation as a minister in his cabinet.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the President’s letter during Tuesday’s plenary, after which the nomination was referred to the Committee of the Whole for screening and further legislative action.

The appointment comes following the resignation of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, who stepped down last month amid controversies surrounding his academic and NYSC certificates.

Nnaji’s exit left Enugu State without representation in the Federal Executive Council, a vacancy Tinubu now seeks to fill with the nomination of Ude.
