Tinubu nominates a new INEC chairman

President Bola Tinubu has nominated Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), succeeding Professor Mahmood Yakubu, whose term is ending in October 2025. The nomination was confirmed by the National Council of State and awaits Senate approval.
