The Member representing Nkanu East and West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, has lost his mother, Mrs. Monica Nnaji.
Mrs. Nnaji passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2026, throwing the Nnaji family into mourning.

Following the announcement of her death, condolences have continued to pour in from political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, friends, and well-wishers within Enugu State and beyond, who have been visiting the lawmaker to sympathize with him and his family over the loss.

Late Mrs. Monica Nnaji was known within her family and community for her strong moral values, commitment to faith, and dedication to the upbringing of her children. Family sources described her as a supportive mother whose guidance and counsel played a significant role in shaping those around her.

Reacting to the loss, associates of Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji described the moment as a difficult one for the federal lawmaker, noting that he has expressed gratitude for the prayers, support, and solidarity shown to his family.

The family has announced that burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.

Mrs. Monica Nnaji is survived by her children, grandchildren, and extended family members.
