The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has honoured Uche Anichukwu, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Enugu State Governor, for his notable contributions to the development of his hometown, Nomeh Unataeze in Nkanu East LGA.
The award was presented during a special service where other community figures - Elder Joseph Orji (Joebest), Elder Sunday Orji, Elder Nkemdirim Orji, and Pastor Chinedu Onovo were equally celebrated for their roles in supporting local development and the church.
Delivering his remarks, the Chairman of the Enugu District Church Council, Rev. Chinedu Okechukwu, said the honour signified both community appreciation and spiritual encouragement, adding that dedicated service always attracts reward.
Resident pastor, Rev. Friday Onole, applauded the awardees for their commitment and urged more residents to contribute to the growth of Nomeh and the advancement of the gospel.
In his response, Anichukwu expressed gratitude to ECWA and fondly remembered his late parents for shaping his values. He praised Governor Peter Mbah’s development drive, highlighting ongoing projects such as the Nomeh–Mburubu–Nara Road, Nomeh–Oduma Road, a Smart Green School, and a Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centre.
He also acknowledged former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu for earlier interventions that helped open up road access to Nomeh - efforts he said changed the area’s history.
Anichukwu urged the people of Enugu State to continue backing Governor Mbah’s ambitious vision for the state’s development.
