The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has witnessed a significant leadership shake-up following the decision of the party's National Working Committee (NWC) on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
According to an update shared by a member of APC from Obuoffia ward in Nkanu West Local Government Area, Mr. Donatus Okonna, the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party, previously led by Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, has been officially dissolved.
In its place, a new caretaker committee has been constituted, with Chief Ben Nwoye appointed as the Chairman to oversee the affairs of the party in Enugu State.
Reacting to the development, Okonna reaffirmed his commitment to the party and pledged his full allegiance to the new leadership under Chief Nwoye.
"As a true and loyal party man, my allegiance and loyalty henceforth is to the new leadership of the same APC," he stated, calling on fellow members and supporters to rally behind the caretaker committee.
He also extended a warm welcome to new and intending members, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the party: “We welcome all intending new members into APC. As a national party, APC is big enough to accommodate all.”
The restructuring is seen as part of broader efforts by the APC at the national level to reposition the party in Enugu State ahead of upcoming political activities.
