Public concern has intensified following the death of nine-month-old identical twin boys less than 24 hours after they reportedly received routine immunisation at a primary health centre in Lagos.
The children’s father, Samuel Alozie, popularly known as Promise Samuel on TikTok, alleged that his sons, Testimony and Timothy, were vaccinated at the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre in Ojo Local Government Area on the morning of December 24, 2025. According to him, the infants became unusually weak shortly after the injections and died the following morning, Christmas Day.
The incident attracted widespread attention after Alozie shared a video on social media showing the bodies of the twins in separate body bags. In subsequent videos, he recounted the events surrounding their deaths, stating that health workers advised him to administer paracetamol if the babies developed a fever.
He claimed the medication did not improve their condition, alleging that the twins became extremely weak, stopped feeding and could no longer respond as they usually did. Alozie further accused the health centre of administering expired, fake or excessive doses of vaccines and claimed that deworming medication was given to the infants without his consent.
The grieving father also raised concerns over the presence of an unfamiliar nurse who reportedly administered the vaccines on that day, different from the health worker who had previously attended to his children during earlier immunisation visits.
He dismissed claims allegedly made by the health facility that the deaths were caused by food-related bacteria, questioning how such an explanation could apply to infants of that age.
As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board had yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Alozie disclosed that an autopsy had been conducted but expressed fears that the findings might be compromised.
Calling for justice, he appealed for legal assistance and public support, stating that he lacked the financial capacity to pursue the case on his own. He urged lawyers and human rights organisations to intervene on behalf of his late children.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread debate across the country, raising questions about vaccine safety, informed consent and accountability in public health facilities, with growing calls for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
